-- Your words, Priya, resonate deeply on many levels. What is an endeavor if not a force that weaves its own narrative through the lens of time? Xo.

First, congratulations on your Substackiversary! I'm so happy to have discovered you here and made the connection. You are most *definitely* a writer, and one of great insight and talent. In this single post, you traveled from a fascinating story about a specific place and time, right into eternity! Without breaking a sweat. Brava!

Priya! I didn't know we started at the same time. My Stackiversary was Saturday, but I kept my Monday schedule to announce it today. Happy birthday to both of us, a year into writing in this new and liberating way. 🎂 I love when you write about these libraries. :-)

Congratulations on a year completed! Here’s many more to come. And I know the libraries you are talking about—I visited “The Famous Bookstall” in Mumbai—so tiny, so cramped, and borrowed books for all of 50 paisa or 1 rupee. Alas, the librarian turned me away one day because “you are taking too much time to decide what book you want to read”🙄. Thanks for the nostalgia of old times and of course you are a writer, and a beautiful one at that!👌🏼
